My name is Rebecca Tillman-Young. I am a Texas artist in the Austin area with a focus in painting and graphics. I also teach art lessons for elementary and middle school aged children. I have a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Painting from the University of Texas at Arlington.
As an artist, I have to admit that I appreciate beauty. Nothing speaks to me more than strong aesthetics, and therefore one of the things I enjoy most in life is creating things that speak to that sensibility.
Drawing was my first love; painting has become my passion. My personal work is a continuous exploration of these mediums. My concept and message tend to vary, grow and adapt as I learn things about my mediums and about myself through the process of making work, but what remains constant is that I love what I do!
In addition to painting however, I also consider myself a graphic artist. I began doing freelance graphic work in early high school and have continued to work in that capacity and hone my skills in the subsequent years. I have designed logos for many small businesses, churches and events, created flyers and posters, website banners, book and CD covers and a variety of other small projects. I enjoy finding creative solutions to bring your ideas and ambitions to life visually.
“Art is not a thing, it is a way.”
